The "pets" I've had so far
    #14316833 - 04/19/11 11:38 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I am a biologist so I love all living things (except people :hehehe:)

Over the years I've had the following things lurking around my place:

viruses, bacteria, protozoa, slime moulds, regular moulds, yeast, mushrooms, earthworms, leeches, scorpions, spiders, jellyfish, hydra sp, algae, fruit flies, fish and their embryos, newts, salamanders, parrots, mice, cats, dogs, those creepy stick insects and I can't remember the rest.

Anyone else maintaining random life forms for fun?

How do you keep Jellyfish!? Thats awesome, they are my favorite animal.

Over the years I've only had cats, dogs, salamanders, geckos, gerbils, and fish. Thats only including organisms from the animal kingdom.

I count fungi too cause they cant make their own food so they are closer to animals than to plants.

As for the jellyfish I was buying a salt mixture from a pet shop and just kept it in a bowl of salty water. This was by far one of the best trip companion I've had.

I've got a family of woodlice in my bathroom, living in the wall. That's it as far as I know

Here are the simplest 'pets' I've had:

Its a virus that eats a population of cells. The holes are the sites where a single virus has landed during the inoculation. The single infectious unit has reproduced and killed everything around it. :gameover:
