it can be done
some growers do pure straw, but a manure/straw will perform better .

that's what I thought... you think the colonized manure will act much like rye in the straw log tek?? and will the moisture content be good if I put it all in a tub??? seems like the one problem is that it might e too wet..

do you mean like spawn ? yes
as far as nutrients go.. no, grains have more nutrients .

well i guess that part is up to you
bring it up to field capacity and no more or let it strain until it doesn't drip no more

I have 49 cakes being ready to be made... I spent tonight preparing my reusable lids for all of em... hazzah!!!
I have never done anything with pasteurized straw so that's where my concerns with moisture content came from
About the grains.. that's completely new news to me as far as having more nutrients. But since an LC colonizes faster does that it mean that it has more than grains??

its how the LC colonizes what makes it faster not the nutrients
culture and grains are two different things
grains are what your culture eats.

you can add seeds to the manure cakes if you want to , i have done it before for some P.cyan cakes .
i added tiny red millet as a supplement it worked fine.
why grass seed ? wild bird seed its cheap and it works great.
