simple cubensis growing technique

a friend i know is using the simple cubensis growing technique. she has prepared her substrate and filled up the jars exactly as instructed.

however, it appears from the pictures on the site that the aluminum foil is placed over the mouth of the jar and then the lids screwed on over the aluminum, but the text instructions say to screw the lid on tightly and then place the aluminum foil over the jar.

she is really confused and wants to do everything just right...any help or advice would be appreciated!!

They are two different things.

This is called Ramsey Seal, it's an extra protection for contaminats but it isn't really necessary.

Well, as advice the foil is place after putting the lids to protect the innoculation holes and prevent from water coming in during PCing.

Ramsey seal works really nice..a friend of mine does that..but the method b4 he used no aluminum foil and just put a layer of vermiculite...i think ramsey works much better
