I wish my doc would give me that, he's my sub doc though so I understand why he wont though, I just dont get it tho ativan withdrawal is just as dangerous as withdrawal from a more effective benzo so I dont understand why he's so hesitant to let me go on klonopin or valium. It just doesnt make sense to me to have to take a short acting benzo 3 times a day vs taking a longer acting one that will keep me way more stabilized. Benzo tolerance is such a bitch though like you said, it develops so fast compared to other drugs IME.

Doctors are very hesitant to prescribe benzos along with opiates or suboxone. I'm surprised you're getting ativan at all. But it is one of the weaker and shortest acting benzos.
I just have to have long and short acting ones in my system at all times, or else very scary things happen.

Massive scary panic attacks.
I'm not talking about a bit of anxiety, I'm talking holy shit my pulse rate is over 220bpm, my blood pressure is through the roof, completely disassociated and hyperventilating enough my muscles cramp up from either excess co2 or lack (can never remember which one).
ER time at that point. Fortunately now I have a steady supply of benzos and feel comfortable now. Haven't had a devastating panic attack in almost half a year.

Well I've got it controlled right now. I always have had problems with anxiety and didn't have my first panic attack till I was around 21. Towards the end before I found an awesome doctor that specializes in anxiety and panic disorder, I was having them sometimes 4-5 times a month.
I'd rather be shot or stabbed. Honestly, I'm not joking. It's like the worst trip of your life x 10 and the only way to stop it is massive amounts of oral and IV/IM benzos.
But I'm doing better now. A little worried about having to take so many benzos on a daily basis, but my doc has a plan to safely and comfortably taper me down if I ever get to the point where I don't need them any more.
When I first started taking Xanax, I admit I did abuse them. I'd mix them with liquor or high strength beer (7-8%) and do stupid shit like fall down the stairs, break lamps, threaten and try to fight family members and complete strangers. Then have NO memory of it the next morning.
But I've been drunk maybe 3 times since mid January and each time I always drank without the benzos. Literally the only times I've blacked out are with alcohol/benzo combo. So it's either one or the other. I'll never mix them again.
