Filtering your jar lids...

I've tried superglueing small squares of filter disc onto a mason jar lid so I can have an injector port on there as well, but the glue never holds. I don't know if it's the heat/pressure from the cooker or what but by the time I get around to shaking my jars the filter pops off on about half of them. Any special glue that anyone uses that won't melt into toxic gas during PCing?

Silicon glue should hold up against autoclave temps.

I would try to tape it on with micropore or glueing it with RTV-Silicone.

If you are looking to make an injector port then the filter disk is not part of the equation, Filter material is made for filters and ships (Self Healing Injector Ports) are made for injection sites.
This picture from TL's tek shows two functions on the lid

1) Filter site for GE (gas Exchange) 2) Injection site (made from high temp-RTV Gasket Maker)
Solution:
Drill a hole per any lid tek and glob on some RTY and BANG! done.
Alternatively a cleaner application is available:
SHIPS or injection ports RTV for the Ships and Clear silicone for the Filter material

SHIPS can be found here for $2.00 for 24 Pieces
My lid configuration is like this

Hope this helps

You might try reading threads more carefully before answering. This issue has been resolved, and yes, filter disks are part of the equation. A for effort though...much appreciated.

Is that why you have pictures of jar lids with filter discs next to your injector ports? Read more carefully. And don't take it so personally.

Just use silicone to hold the filter material on and use a silicone blob over a hole in the lid to make the injection port...wally world has it for less than 3 bucks
