do you care at all about knowing tons of people and being active in society?
im not saying im 100% reject but i find when it comes to most people id just rather not take part. i dont like drama, i dont really care about ego games, dont care to know everyone in the world, etc..................
if society lived in the woods itd probably be more chilled out but even then i feel like 'large groups' of people usually not good. i like 'small' groups i think and very few/close friendships when they work out.

x2.
However, I find you gotta play a bit of the "society" game to move up in it. Interpersonal skills are vital to things like financial success, general respect in the community and access to many of life's perks. Sometimes it may seem a bit fake but it depends on what you want out of life I guess. Me, I wanna make an impact lol, so I gots no choice but to come out of that shell that I grew up in and put myself out there. You'll just have more access to things in life such as jobs, girls, people in general (theres a lot more out there than your small circle of friends and you'd be surprised at what you may find) amongst other things. There is a vast world to be explored and the world really is your oyster. But as I said, it really comes down to what you want in life. Are you happy and absolutely content with what you have? Or do you want more access to what the world has to offer?

i find that most pplz are just wrapped up in there own life worrying about them selves and only them selves. i only have like 4 friends around here. 1 lives 45+min away as well as another. another friend lives in the next town over. i started school last year in pittsburgh(haven't really been in the city for 10 years when i moved out of baltimore) and theas fuckers are ignorant. on the street and in my classes. all they care about is them selves and the useless world around them. if it wont help them out they wont do shit. i also am finding my self getting paranoid around larger groups of ppl(ill put a hand on my gun while i walk) i don't mean to but that just how paranoid i am now getting around a lot of ppl. im useto the seclusion of the county now and yea i don't like people nowadays.
and to the post before me. i do explore the world. just not the over populated parts. i like camping in the woods. its like ahhh smile grin teeth face to me lol. but most ppl i cant stand and can only fake it for so long. im sorry but when i look at the world today i see a sick world full of disease and decay in the morals of a society that im told to follow. just wont do it.

Thats all well and good to think that way, as long as there's nothing you want from society in return.

Yes. Many times I think to myself: "How much better would the world be if everyone just took a minute to actually give a shit".
I try and help out my neighbors when I can. I've mentored students, I'll take my time to volunteer and help out the community. Hell, on a windy day, I put my grocery cart away, just so it doesn't slam into someone else's car. It doesn't consume me, control me, or take very much of my time.
A little respect and common courtesy goes a long way. It saddens me that so many people cannot grasp this simple concept.

and yes there is nothing that society can offer me. besides tickets and court fees over BS. i have my family and that is all i need. like i said i cant stand people cos most are fake and only put on a shroud so you see what they want you to think of them. get to know them and their habits. then you can paint any picture you would like of them but in reality you will never know how that person/persons are really like behind closed doors.

but even with a few friends you are living in a society.
I think moderation is the key I find I can not live in total isolation it kills me.
but my self as well do not do so well in large populations.

Yeah. Same.
In fact, I like to be alone and just chill by myself. Sometimes it gets lonely, thats why you need at least one person to share your world. But do not put all the strain on his/her world, because he/she is not your world.

To a larger extent, you ARE a part of society whether you wish to be or not.
If one eats at a fast-food restaurant more than once a year and grows food their own food the other 364/65 days, you still ate fast-food. An integrated society with all pissed-off and non-social individuals...well...makes the internet what it is.

If you grow food 365 days a year, you are definitely part of society. Where did you learn to grow? What kind of tools did you use? Obviously a person cannot utilize society's technology yet claim to be apart from society.
That said, society is so sick, the only way I do want to be a part of it is to change it.
