Reticle
    #14310758 - 04/18/11 07:48 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I just purchased this http://store.amscope.com/ep10x23r.html reticle and I'm unsure whether or not I need to calibrate it with a stage micrometer.

Could someone clear this up for me?

Yes, you will need to calibrate it for each magnification setting

It is supposed to be around 1 micron per division, but they never are exactly that because every objective and eyepiece has slightly different magnification.

By using a stage micrometer you can calculate exactly how large the divisions are.

On one of my scopes the divisions are 8.87 and the same eyepeice/reticle has 10.92 micrometer divisions on another of my scopes.
