Galerina vs. Subaeruginosa

Please post your galerina pics from Australia if you have any. Although I'm certain I can tell the difference between subaeruginosa and galerina the thought of accidentally picking one is driving me crazy! I noticed "galerina vs. sub" related questions get asked from time to time so it would be nice to have a thread with detailed pics to point people to.
*If there is already a thread on this please post the link and ill delete this one. I tried doing a quick search and didn't find much, maybe i searched wrong.

Not my photos, but I think they will do the job. Note the orange cap and orange gills and all round orangeness

just steer clear of anything with a brown stem, or an annulus on the stem. if it looks suspect and doesn't go blue, throw it out to be safe.
i think pics 1 and 4 of sanchez's photos look like the closest to the ones i've encountered.
another two key differences ive noticed is that, subs are generally very sturdy and strong mushrooms, they dont fall apart easily, they dont bend easily. where as other imitation mushrooms tend to be very flimsy and fall apart very easily.
also subs have a distinct smell to them as well. that smell can help you id them also.

Like others have said, they're pretty easy to distinguish but in saying that I even get fooled by the odd one from a distance and I've been hunting for over 15 years now.
When up close it's clear as to what they are ie: annulus, rusty spore deposit, usually growing directly from wood.
Here's one I seen from a distance and thought it was a sub, as I got closer I realised I was wrong.

jeez! great photo's karode, those actually look alot more similar to subs then the one's i have encountered. Maybe the one's i have encountered are actually not gallerinas.
Thats actually a bit concerning how similar they look in those photos ! just goes to show how vigilant people have to be when hunting for mushrooms!
here are some from last season:

NOTE: that in the first pic there are the suspect orangey mushrooms mixed in with what was believed to be subaeruginosa. Luckily upon closer inspection and going through each one by one, it was realised there were a few that were not quite right. the last image compares the suspect ones to the subaeruginosa.

Galerina patch.

Galerina showing some powdery residue on the stem which could be mistaken for bluing.

Pholiotina rugosa (=Conocybe filaris) - another deadly lookalike.

Galerina vs. Subaeruginosa dried.

Even though I'm not from down under, this is the kind of thread that always makes me look at my pickings over and over again. Our "Ps. friscosa" (which I believe Inski has stated is Ps. subaeruginosa) looks similar to the deadlies shown here.
Great pics.

Wow dude, that's fucking scary! They do kind of stick out though, but you kind of have to know what you're looking for...

Australian Galerina marginata looks exactly the same as everywhere else in the world. Google image search is your friend. And spore printing, of course, as there is no mistaking a Galerina for a Psilocybe print.

Gallerinas never bruise blue and always look more greeny yellow on colour. Also look for the veil.
