Bah Multi-spore, Best way to start?

Let me just say I hate starting new. Its a huge PITA but is necessary if you want to create and keep the best strain possible. How do you guys get started?
I usually go agar>>blind isolation 1-2 times>>agar to grain>>bulk sub or MS LC >>grains>>bulk sub + pray
I haven't really found a method that has truly really come to my liking. I usually do agar with prints and LC with sponsor syringes.
any input would be splendid I would really love a better method of doing this.

seven posts and I was hoping for an answer.
MS takes so long to colonize with straight up grains :/

Clone is one of the best ways. With your blind isolation until you test the iso out you have no clu how its going to grow. You clone you know exactlly how its gonna perform Cloning is easy but its not something you can do to start you need to do an MS grow to get the fruit to clone from. This IMHO is much better than blind iso's and having to test them all out.

either, but if you expand, use GLC IMO. (unless you're working with a flowhood, then I envy you.) then fruit > agar clone > isolate > test!

24x24 flowhood
The main issue i guess would be the "testing".
I've never tried cakes. My friend dragged me right into bulk. It seems like smaller would be better for MS trials.
Cakes or bulk shoeboxes?

It seems the best method is to MS inoculate a bunch. If i were to MS to cakes, and clone an isolation from those- would they preform the same on a larger substrate with different substrate? I think cakes would be the wrong approach, but I could be wrong cakes offer the ability to test a lot in a small space

I've made bulk blocks with spawn bags. and I'd say that a rice bran substrate differs greatly from a soil/manure substrate.
