Start with the pf tek and follow it to the letter. Don't Venture out on your own and experiment before you know what your doing. No disrespect but you obviously don't know what your doing yet.

No worries. I understand I have much to learn. But I feel experimenting is worth the time. Though, I don't think what I'm doing is so far off. It's just a different container.
Also, I happen to have a pf tek going as of current.

What you have done is added rye(That is not sterilized and has been exposed to open air) to colonized cakes. Since the moist grain(a nutritious substance) has been exposed to open air(Thousands of mold and bacterial spores) you will 100% have contamination in that container.
I hope this helps you to understand what people are talking about.
What you are confusing is spawning to bulk substrate.
Your spawn (fully colonized grain spawn) is added to a pasteurized bulk substrate(coir, verm, manure etc etc) then left to colonize.

You have to remove the competition from the equation for your mycelium to have a chance.. Your container and methods made this impossible, and thus you will be seeing some greens, greys, blacks and other colors of the rainbow. Be carefull because these contaminations will fill your house with spores, toxins and stink. People have gotten sick. Be carefull.

Now I see. No pressure cooker equals no grains; PERIOD! If I used a pressure cooker, would this have worked? Or should all collinization be done in a canning jar or mycobag?

experimenting is great but first you have to understand the why's and whats and procceses of what your experimenting with and you just don't...no it still wouldn't of worked with pc'd grains just like RR said you really REALLY need to read a lot more before experimenting and do those pf cakes and follow the tek to a T or you will just be back here asking what am i doing wrong...sorry if we seem to be being hard on you but you need to read more and listen to all the experienced good advice on here

What you want to do is soak your rye, simmer for 10-20 minutes, strain and let dry.
After your grain is dry on the outside(It will still retain moisture inside the kernel) you load the grain into your jars. Your jar lid must have some form of filtered gas exchange(Be it tyvek, polyfil, or synthetic filter discs).
You then place a layer of tin foil over your jars before loading into your pressure cooker and PCing for 90 minutes.
All this information can be found in greater detail by using the search engine.

Seriously, I don't know how my mind kept old misguided thoughts as I was reading through materiel. I knew grains needed to be pressure cooked, but for some reason I thought that grain to grain transfers were an exception. I truly did deserve the harshness. My ill-conceded rational and impatience led to a terrible misconception.
Thank you for helping me see my errors.
