Clearing my bathtub with a hand crank auger.

Any tips?
I'm going in through the overflow drain, but there's a stopper assembly in my way. Does that matter at all?

I have better luck with a water hose, feed it down the overflow, pack the hole tightly with cloth and open the valve on the hose, pressure will build and blow through the clog
is your tub the onlything with drainage issues?

Yeah, it's just the tub. Buncha girls with long hair in this house.

I got some crystal heat drain opener too, to try and keep every thing running smooth once the pipes are cleared. I wanted to get some clobber, but I don't know anyone with a plumbers license anymore. Hopefully this stuff actually works. It's sodium hydroxide, so it should be alright...better than that foaming nonsense anyway.

you may find it binds at the elbow and again at the trap, just keep going with it, if you can access any of the piping from the underside of the floor then check for a clean out

Yeah, I thought about going under the house to look for the p trap, but that's really way out of my league. I'm not even certain that bathtubs have p traps. Also, I don't feel like being eaten alive by whatever crazy florida creatures might be down there.
I've pulled a ton nasty rotting hair out so far, but I'm maybe 3 meters in and I don't think it's going any further. It's draining now, but not as quickly as it should. Ima give the hose a go if the crystal heat doesn't clear it the rest of the way up.
We've had a plumber here 3 times since december, this nonsense is just getting out of hand.
