Adaptogenic herbs

I became aware of adapogenic herbs just recently. There was an article concerneing the use of rhodiola rosea and the Russian Olympic teams post cold war. Apparently they used the herb for a host of physical and mental reasons. I suggest you do some reading if you don't know what I'm talking about here, I'm too lazy to run over it. I was only curious if anyone here has any experience either growing or using these wonderful plants? Care to share?

Basically anything with caffeine (coffee, tea, yerba mate, guarana, kola, cocoa as well as any ephedrine-containing species considered an adaptogen.

I would have used Ginseng, Ganoderma, Cordyceps, Rhodiola etc. as my examples. Your quote here is the first time I've seen the common herbs listed as 'adaptogenic.' Could you please source your examples? Something is funny about that list.
Wiki offers a good list of the adaptogens.
x7x_x7x , I just recently ordered seed for this particular ginseng. I currently take Ganoderma Tsugae daily to help with immune function. It does great in reducing the impact and duration of the common cold. My nasal passages dry right up after a few cups of the tea, I love it.
I really wish I had all of the adaptogens on-hand. I would love to see how they synergize vs. certain illnesses.

Because mild stimulants are adaptogens, and caffeine and ephedrine are both mild stimulants.

High quality Rhodiola extracts have treated me well. Just started taking an Ashwagandha extract and enjoy the effects. Siberian ginseng aka Eleuthero is a also a very nice herb and has non-placebo effects. I get the whole mild stimulants act as adapotgens but the three I listed above are pretty standard and have no caffeine etc..They can certainly be stimulating but in a much nicer and sometimes stronger, whole body and mind encompassing way.

A testament to the virtue patience, the manisfestation of endurance. I'd be honored to germinate one.
