It's fine.
Also, all garden stores are open on Sunday.

Are the moisture and texture benefits of verm not nulled if it's ground up, or is there some other benefit to keeping it in the recipe?

I read in high times once that verm has a higher absorption rate when it's finer, which I guess kind of makes sense since there would be more surface area....

This leads me to wonder, if I am following instructions that use coarse vermiculite, how does this impact the substrate mixture ratio of brown rice flour to vermiculite?
Nobody with a clue would recommend using course verm with brown rice flour. Fine verm is preferred. You got the right stuff.

Are you sure you didn't read that right here? I've posted at least 100 times that fine verm is superior, and holds more moisture. That's why it's what was used for the BRF tek video. RR

Entirely likely, RR. In fact, I believe on of my first posts was about me having fine verm and wondering if it was okay.
