Is Kratom worth it?

I quit drinking about a year and a half ago. I got into the shrooming thing and completely fell in love with the whole process. I was looking at the kratom website today and almost ordered a batch. I read up on it and got mixed feelings. Most of the posts on here about kratom are like 7 years old. I know what the effects are, but what is the best way to go (i.e. capsules, extracts, commercial grade....?) Has anyone ever tried it on a low dose of shrooms? Feedback please.
Thanks.

I do Kratom every day because I got kicked out of pain management. It does help wit the pain, nothing like oxy but it helps. You can get a decent buzz going with it too, but i don't really enjoy it that much. It makes my eyes feel "lazy" like when I try to look at something it takes a while for my eyes to follow.. really weird and IMO doesn't feel anything like an opiate, but that could be because I am tolerant. Give it a try, can't hurt.

What is the best to get? I've heard capsules are good/not good, x15 is great/over priced and plain leaves are the way to go. BTW, I may just like that lazy eyes thing.

Yeah def go with just plain leaf... it may be nasty as hell but it's the best value. I buy superfine bali kratom which is just leaf grinded into a power. I usually put a spoonful at a time in my mouth and then wash it down with juice. You could load up some gell caps with it too if you can't stand the taste.

Think it has mild pain killing properties though I wouldn't advise anyone to use it soley for that purpose or they might be a little dissapointed. It's a very versatile plant that's for sure, some strains produce energetic highs whilst others sedate you. UEI is in a world of its own though and up there (for me) with pod tea as far as the strength goes. UEI also gave me my first ever proper nod but back then my tolerance was at its lowest so that would've been a big contribution (damn I wish my tol was that low these days, lol.). The trick to get the most out of yer kratom is mix a few different blends together, you have no idea how effective this is! Plain leaf + an extract + an enhanced blend is feelsgoodman.jpg!

I've been taking kratom everyday for the last 6 months for pain and recreation. It gets rid of my anxiety and helps me get things done . The only problem is, I'm physically addicted and the withdrawals are not fun at all. Bones start to burn, agitated, I can compare it to most other opiate withdrawal symptoms. Overall it's a great pain releiver and does produce a pretty good amount of euphoria and work ethic. I'm trying to get off of it but it's so hard since it's legal and so easy to get. Good Luck! BTW How much do you guys normally dose at one time. 3-4Grams or more>? I'm very curious.

I ordered some a few days ago. I'll def let you know how it turns out. I'm going to go with a regular dose of Kratom and low (2 g) dose of cubies for my first time.

It's decent. I went with regular leaf, which requires more material and is gross as a fucked turd, but you get more bang for your dollar.
You can still over do it though, so careful. Puking isn't ruled out.

Yeah okay this thread just got me. I'm gonna spend a little bit on some herbals this weekend, pick up some Kratom, Kanna and Wild Dagga.
Kratom looks kinda expensive though; I'd prolly have to buy a 1/4 lb in order to have enough for long enough.
Could someone please provide a list of effects or a general description of the experience? I know where to find erowid but I'm curious about reports from here.

in high doeses it has an itch like opiates mixed with a euphoric feeling.
the chick that i gave some to took 3 capules (aprox 1.5 g) of maeng da and was slurring her words must be nice.
the lucid herb has awesome customer service.. i highly recomend them for first timers seems like prices are in the ball park but the customer service is hands donw.

I'm going with leaf, the general consensus is that this is the best route. I'll eat it. Like everything else good in this world, it is probably an acquired taste.

It feels like a mild opiate, with additional emphasis on the physical profile and a decrease in the euphoria department (IME).

I bought 25g extract powder from there. Since I make my own magic capsules, I'll just do the same with the Kratom. I know everyone says the leaf is better bang for the buck but I hate screwing around with teas and shit. 80 bucks with shipping for 25g.

I think this is actually dose-dependent rather than strain or "vein type" dependent. Mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine are the only alkaloids. IME, lower doses are sedating - higher ones give you weird but pleasant energy (and make sleep difficult).

This almost mirrors the two cultures. Thailand has a busy fast-paced nation full of kick-boxing, tons of sex tourism, and migrant workers abroad, while Indonesia/Bali is typically portrayed as more sleepy and laid back with massage and meditation centers.

to me kratom is kratom. I have tried it all. If you want the most out of it. Get crushed leaf, I normally get 4oz at a time. CHEW the leaves if you want the most out of this amazing plant. I don't know what it is but when you actually chew the leaves then eat it you feel the most euphoric. I don't care for the extracts or the capsules or anything else except the powder and the crushed leaf. I don't chew them anymore unless I want that really really nice euphoric opiate high otherwise it's just too much trouble plus it's not good for your teeth as it seems to eat away at your enamel if you do it a lot like I did. It's acidic. Now that's why I've been back and forth to the dentist recently.

Well, I got my 25g shipment in the mail yesterday. I took about 9 grams of the X15 extract. It was pretty good. It had similar effects to hydrocodone (including itching and nodding). My stomach on the other hand was really upset for about an hour. I also was jittery and shaky at first, but that subsided as well. At first I tried loading the extract into capsules, which definitely was not worth the effort. That stuff is really sticky and a pain to compress. They also sent me a 14g sample pack of the Maeng Da powder. I will try that next to see which one I like better. I ordered from The Lucid Herb Kratom Cafe and I was very very happy with the service and speed of the transaction. All and all I am pretty happy with my first experience.

I've been experimenting with Kratom too, but I got mine through a different vendor. An ounce each of 5 different strains for $35 wasn't too bad. Definitely a fan of the Red Vein Borneo. White and red vein sumatra don't last as long for me, and the green malaysian was AWESOME! I've been playing around with blending and found that the white vein Sumatra and the Red vein Borneo go quite well together. It seems to me that Kratom is one of those personal preference things, one strain some people won't like but others will, and another strain only goes well if combined with other strains ect ect. It seems like its a trial and error kind of deal, and eventually you'll find a strain or mixture that you like. Its such a pleasant feeling too. Not quite opiate in strength, but just a general sense of euphoria and well being (for me at least).

unfortunately they can get pretty nasty. tremors, sweats, racing heart, but you will most likely not get any if you only take it a couple of times a week or so

My last two experiences with it was phenomenal. It felt almost exactly like taking a hydrocodone but without the dizzy/sick feeling when you take too much. Last night I took a strong dose of 15x extract with a 2g dose of my pe/b+ capsule mix. It was really good. The two worked together very well. It was like getting the same body buzz and mild visuals from the mushies, but so relaxed that I didnt have the internal dialogue associated with them. I also woke up this morning with a nice after glow.

Pretty cool plant, but narcotic in nature and can produce undesirable withdraws if taken enough.

I've been taking Kratom everyday for almost a year for social anxiety etc. I'm physically addicted and I'm ready to get off of it. I can quit taking it if I take any other opiates. It takes me almost 10g of regular bali now to feel anything from it. It's not that bad compared to a lot of other things or when I was addicted to benzo's. But I only have 2 days to detox seeing as I only get 2 days off a week and I'm on work probation. I might schedule 4 days off in a row within the next 3 weeks for detox. I actually use it mostly for work which is why I got started on it in the first place. Wish me luck.

Been to work many times on Kratom never with any issues, it seems very versatile in that respect. I order it in bulk once a month, usually spending around $100. when it runs out and it's been a while since I'd last taken it, I notice myself wanting it again, so yeah I don't underestimate its addictiveness. I take forced breaks.
Good luck in coming off it Mushaboom, just be glad it isn't a stronger opiate you're into.

Thanks, I'll be fine. It's just the thought of dealing with my job without any mental stimulating substance that erks me. It's going to feel like being a complete slave again. I've got to hurry up and figure out what I want to do so I can find a job I love and enjoy.

I don't like to compare it to an opiate. It has its own special warm fuzzy glowy feel. I'm on about 10g of green malaysian and I'm enjoying it a lot!

I tried kratom for the first time a couple of days ago.
It was nice, especially combined with . Reminded me of hydrocodone a bit.

Kratom after about 2 hours reminds me of hydrocodone after about 2 hours.

I didn't wanna start a new thread about this, but....
I just grabbed an oz of green malay and an oz of red borneo powdered leaf...for $15 total
Is it actually true that different strains produce different effects?
I'm hoping one of these is more sedating and one is more upper.
Is there a thread I'm not finding that 'details' the different effects? Is it the color veins or the geographic locale that makes the difference?
Sorry for the 20 questions, hoping somebody has a useful thread bookmarked that they can share.
