Habitat:
found these babies in some sagebrush here in the pacific NW. Not quite growing out of dung, but in some pasture.

Gills:
gills are white to tan, getting darker at the edges.
the gills are adenate and subdecurrent

Stem:
stems ranged from 1-2 inches and from about 5mm to 10mm in diameter
the stems do not bruise bluish and have some white powder at the pase and close to the cap.

Cap:
caps are anutty brown color with wavy margins. from 1/2 inch to about 2 inches in diameter. Mostly upturned but a few are still convex

Spore print color:
white to tan

Bruising:
not much bruising but the margins and other areas on the cap darkened a little bit. not quite bluish though

Other information:
the mushrooms have a real pungent odor just like all the other mushrooms i've had.
I was first thinking they were wavy caps but they don't bruise blue and the spore print is off. I'm thinking the might be some sort of amanita.
are they edi

You have a Clitocybe or Melanoleuca.

They are not edible or hallucinogenic.

They are fun to look at under the microscope, look for harpoon shaped cystidia on the gill edges!!!

To upload pictures click on the pics link at the top left of the page.

Or post them on mushroomobserver.org, right click on each picture, select "Copy image URL" and paste that URL between [img] tags in your post.
