Nighttime Profuse Sweating

This is really pissing me off and I'm hoping someone can shed some light. I'm 29, 6'1, 170 lbs, pretty healthy, in good shape. Lately, not every single night... but just about.. every other night or so, I will wake up covered in sweat. Some nights its worse than others, sometimes it's just some steady sweating throughout the night enough to just dampen the sheets.. sometimes I just wake up completely drenched and soaking wet. Either way it's annoying as fucking hell. There doesn't really seem to be any method to the madness....Some days I wake up dry, some days I wake up soaking wet.
At first I thought it was related to our comforter (we had a big thick down one ) and we ended up replacing that with a super thin "cool" comforter which is a lot better but I even wake up sweating under that one. Doesn't seem to matter if I switch out the sheets or not, sleep under thinner sheets etc..it can still happen. We even got a totally new bed and the problem persists. It doesn't seem to be that related to the outside temps really either.. more my internal metabolism or something.
I'm normally a pretty cold sleeper so it kinda confuses me cause this is a fairly recent phenomenon. It's also one of the most annoying things in the world to wake up covered in sweat and freezing regularly. I'm not turning diabetic am I? Anyone got ideas?

a few questions
do you have restless leg syndrome?
high blood pressure?
pooling of fluid in lower extremities?
do u do alot of walking during the day?
first let me say im by no means a medical professional but i do have medical training.
another possibility would be night terrors, u wake up and u wouldnt remember the dream, signs are sudden waking up, alert and often covered in sweat.
and as always, if u feel something is wrong then u should consult a medical professional, but let us know some answers and when i get home from work ill try to help ya out.
P.S. Also, any recent changes in diet?

It's definitely not night terrors or sleep paralysis. My dreams are usually pleasant and lucid, when I remember them.. which I rarely do. I smoke a lot of weed. It's not sudden waking up covered in sweat with pulse racing... it's waking up because I'm covered in sweat and wet and cold wet sheets when the air hits it.
I don't think my blood pressure is high.. usually the docs remark its low. Haven't been checked in a while though. I do have restless leg syndrome, during work I'm often jittery my feet up and down. I work at a desk job so not walking all day. I do tend to have circulation issues in the lower extremities ankles etc, being an Aquarius.. No major changes in diet.. I eat pretty healthy on average, whole grains..fruits and veggies.. water water .. I do consume a lot of sugar though, I'm wondering if that could be related. I don't drink alcohol.

Yes a few times when I was much younger, it's definitely not that. I'm pretty sure this is related to my metabolism or my body processes in some way I naturally have a very high metabolism

your answers are quite relieving, that rules out the major concerns (diabetes, blood pressure, heart issues)
id recommend simply placing a fan in the room and putting it to oscillate.
i sometimes have the same thing, and when i up the fan or turn on my ceiling fan it usually fixes the problem.
do u sleep with someone in the bed? possible animal?
i dont think anything SERIOUS is wrong but again, im not a medical professional, id suggest trying the fan idea and letting us know it works, if u have any questions, please feel free to send me a private message.

I sleep w/ my woman but it happens when she's not in the bed too I'm hoping nothing is seriously wrong because I'd probably be experiencing other problems too.. It's just really annoying. I will try pointing a fan at the bed or something.

i've had this for a long time too. sometimes it's related to drugs it seems, sometimes definitely not
maybe one of your doshas is off balance
i can empathize with the annoyance of waking up soaked and gross feeling and having to move to the dry side of the bed

Me too - this happens to me infrequently, but i am usually "warm, hot or comfortable" in all situations.

I get it when I am really stressed too.
I find doing hot yoga stops it. Relaxes me and I sweat a lot in yoga and not at night.
-------------------- "A human being is part of the whole, called by us 'Universe'; a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely but striving for such achievement is, in itself, a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security." Albert Einstein
