Found it thanks, Its a shame because I remember kicking these bitches over all the time before I knew what they could have been. My mom always told me that wild mushrooms will make you sick or die so I never fucked with them. Im going out after the next rain.

Anyone wanna join me in exploring the woods if ur in the area and not a creeper? This is against the rules, I'd advise you to read up on them before you get banned sir. No asking for hunting partners or to meet up.

(Seems my post from this morning didn't take, so I'll repost with update)
So I couldn't sleep at all last night, so when dawn rolled around I decided to check this thread and saw the good news! I then decided to get out early as fuck and investigate new habitats!
I found what I think SHOULD be fucking weilii paradise! Very large foresty park that has a SHIT TON of loblolly pines and sweetgums, and the ground was just filled to the brim with rotting pine logs all covered with pine straw and gumballs! Plus big slash piles of pine logs. I walked around for hours looking under logs, peeking between shrubs and into crevices... no luck
But it's probably still too early right? I mean, the season has JUST begun, so if there were patches in that area they may not even be fruiting yet?

Yeah I also found a grouping of what appeared very much to be velutina (orangish, furry caps, mottled gills, stringy black remnants of veils around stipe). I remember reading a post that said that if you find velutina that weilii should be very close by. Is this true?

It doesn't hurt too much to look, does it?

OHHH! Turns out that right across from where I found the velutina is not only a giant public lawn of fescue grass, but also several dozen acres of public recreational forest!!
I may not have found any weilii today, but I sure did get some good intel for where to look next time.

Bout twice the strength of cubes. I wouldn't spend a ton of time in the woods til you start to find them in your known areas. Velutina tend to fruit before the weilii and during. Haven't found anymore either but its just a matter of time.

The 4 I found were on a walking trail off to the side growing straight from clay and leaf matter behind this apartment complex I found last year. There are tons of Velutina everywhere but those are the only Weilii I've found so far.
