I found these on April 19th the year before last and we have been having almost the exact same kind of weather this spring. I would get out and start looking for the season is upon us very soon. I'm going to go take a look today maybe I will get lucky.

Yeah i typically see more Liberty caps and Cubes in spring and more weilii's in fall. I wonder if there is a reason for this? Oh btw Gwinnett local here so were not that far from eacother either.

I wanna know if the south fulton is an area, though I can't see why not. Especially over there near Westlake HS I see nothing but red clay and fallen/dying pines.
But after the storms that came thru last night im definitely gonna be looking

Man i got up at seven thirty this morning to try to finally find my first woodland weilii patch, and unfortunately still nothing. I feel like im finally going to find one this year, but i really hope its sooner rather than later.
Oh and on the subject of those liberty caps, i have a friend who used to live in Washington and has some experience with P. semilanceata and one day while exploring new grounds in suwanee, we came up on an open field that sat underneath a man made lake. It was significantly cooler in the shade there and there were oaks and that cow pasture grass, just a little over run. The tiny mushrooms we found did not grow out of poo. We took spore prints and all but this was when i was a LOT more inexperienced. I guess the only thing that will settle this is to travel back there and try for the same results. oh yeah and get pictures...

I am very excited for my first season hunting weilii! I've been doing all my research, and been scoping out some possible habitats.
I've mainly been looking in public parks and interstitial areas that aren't private property. I'm not too keen on crawling through peoples yards, but we'll see where it all goes.
Also, what kind of luck will I have since I am closer to the downtown area. I mean, not right down town, but not exactly in the suburbs either? Decatur seems to have lots of pine trees all over the place, but I haven't taken the time to explore there.
