They look to be subs, check them all for bruising and print any you are unsure of.
As for A. Muscaria, it's a different kind of effect, I have not tried them myself but I believe some people with the right dosige really enjoy them, most however don't find it an enjoyable experience.

thanks guys. I will probably be heading back to that spot to have a longer look, we checked this place out last on our trip (and was really the only one we found anything at all) - so it was getting dark by the time we got there.

Found between 20-30 subs in my usual patches in the last couple of days and left many pins to grow. Ate two mature(ish) subs after three hits of good LSD today - wow.

hahahahaha. After all this rain and sun I'm almost certain they'll be growing by now around my area. Anyone have any luck from the S.E suburbs/towns? I'll go on an afternoon hunt tomorrow and post back with anything I find. Excited!

Found a few patches of these today. Got about 50-60 altogether. This was my first time hunting, I can't be sure as to what they are.
I'm taking a spore print - but if anyone could give me a clue as to what they think they are, that'd be awesome
I also found about 5-6 Amanita muscaria - I have read a lot of info about these (can cause nausea, etc) but are they worth taking if prepared properly?
Ewww don't pick em like that man, use scissors!

Can I ask why? As I said, I'm a newb. We left quite a lot there (going back tomorrow) - is it because they won't grow back? I thought this was the way. My bad ;X

You shouldn't pick them like that because when you rip them out your taking their food source with them. If you cut them with scissors you leave the stem which might regrow and you leave the mycelium which will produce more shrooms throughout the season.

now that you have pulled the mycelium tho amocani, dont let it go to waste. tare off the bottom end of the shrooms with the dirt/white stuff and plant them into woodchip beds somewhere so that it will start a new patch and spread more of the mycelium.

Hahah. I really feel bad now that I picked them (like I did) lol.
If the ones I planted in my backyard (Woodchips) were successful, how long would it take for a new patch to appear?

Melbourne's mushroom season has begun. I dropped in at my ex local park yesterday and collected about 700g (fresh weight) magic mushrooms. A lot of them were already dying. I think they must have matured about 4 days ago. Nonetheless still a decent harvest for a few hours' work. I think for other locations, mushrooms should now be on it's way. I think this will be an excellent season given the amount of rain we've had. Happy hunting.

Yum yum amocani! I'm up at lake Eildon fishing this weekend. Amazing how the lakes at 82% and the ground around is still so dry. Hopefully all my spots around my area started fruition whilst I was away.

Went for a pic just before sunset yesterday, the subs were a little dryer than they were at the beginning of the week but there were still heaps

A lot of little pins at the moment too:

I find they take on a different complexion when there is limited moisture/direct sunlight:

Compared with a sub while damp:

If you're lucky sometimes the subs will even do their own spore prints to save you time, if they do this they are fond of you:

Subs are an inimitably beautiful mushroom:

Let's hope we get a bit more rain and cold thios week to really get the subs going for all those that have not had any luck as of yet. And ofcourse good vibes to those who have :P
