Seems pretty dry out in suburbia... I went also to the shire but my last season's attempts there was nil. I want to know what type of environment you guys look outside of the suburban woodchip park type places? I tried a couple forests in the shire but i think i'm not looking at the right places. I've tried open/closed canopy rainforest looking dead woody debris but don't see many fungal life. The previous pics suggest you can even find these buggers in grassy/vegetative areas without much tambark. I go surfing to the island quiet a bit and i hear that is good place to scope but i don't see much of those park type places, which suggests that you guys go out on private property farms? I mean i don't recall there being a forest down south.

well i had a great season last year, even though i live up on the mountains around all the pine forrests, i found all of my subs in suburban areas in wood chip garden beds in resedential areas so if you have to right amount of rain have a look.

That's funny, i thought the people hauling huge amounts get it from forest areas.

but still it seems huge hauls can be found in forests. I just like going through biodiverse forests rather than plain vanilla suburban parks. Thing is i never found anything in the rainforest.

Cause i was knew to it all i wasnt sure where the patches were and instead of waisting my time finding new patches because it was close to the end of the season, i knew where bigger patches were closer to the city and i left the scounting for this year.

A few pics I took the other day, shitty quality and size because of my chinese made phone :P Going for a pick tomorrow let it be know there are shitloads around. Pictures are from my usual spot which has about 40 small colonies in close proximity, very fruitful place.

Founds nada yesterday. Well, loads of inactives and a few (what I'm assuming to be) amanitas which were quite big and really stood out. Will be looking in different areas when I get the chance.

The last one, is Tremella fuciformis or something similar, they are pretty aweseome
I am not sure on the rest need more info, you are better off filling out a proper I.D. request.

Found a few patches of these today. Got about 50-60 altogether. This was my first time hunting, I can't be sure as to what they are.
I'm taking a spore print - but if anyone could give me a clue as to what they think they are, that'd be awesome
I also found about 5-6 Amanita muscaria - I have read a lot of info about these (can cause nausea, etc) but are they worth taking if prepared properly?
