keep consolidating tub, or introduce to fruiting conditions?
    #14297942 - 04/15/11 08:52 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

i keep seeing people say 7 or 10 days after making the tubs to introduce into fruiting conditions. but the tubs i have are ridiculous. 2-3 days after putting them together, the entire top of the tub is covered in healthy mycelium.

i mean, literally, 2 or 3 days after mixing the spawn and substrate they look like this:

im not sure how common it is for the growth to be this fast after spawning. should i wait for a complete 7 days before introducing to fruiting? or should i throw them in now?

i know i know, use the search function. well, i wanted to post this asking because i remember reading someone say "let the mushrooms tell you when theyre ready." and well, i dont know what to say. theses tubs are goin WILD!!!

each tub has about 4" of substrate mixed with 6 quarts of spawn. i dumped the spawn in and mixed together thoroughly. so theres even grains on top of the substrate. but its pretty well mixed together evenly.

ill wait a few days, im guessing tuesday is when ill be putting them into fruiting.

i just put together a smaller tub tonight. so 8 are all on the same page, then i have a PF albino tub i made last night and a small burma tub i put together tonight. ill put those in another closet until ready for fruiting.
