Growing the Sacred Cambodian - My Grow Log

My grow is a month or so in, so I'm sort of getting caught up here. I'm growing using the PF Tek method, modeled off the Let's Grow Mushrooms! tutorial. (thanks fellas) I skipped a few sterilization measures, such as injecting in a sterilized cab with sterilized gloves and sterilizing the needles with a flame. This all sounded like a bother to me, and I decided I would use prayer to protect my mushrooms instead. Well I haven't been all in this Winter so I for the most part neglected to pray. A few of my cakes got completely infected, so I had to compost them. 3 of my cakes pinned prematurely, I harvested the pins (had my first mushroom experience ) removed the contaminated parts from them, dunk'n'rolled, and got them in the fruiting chamber. After about a week of no apparent action, I moved them in front of the heater. That, coupled with the warmer weather, I believe is what got them going.
By the way the variety is Cambodian. Thanks Free Spore Ring!
I will kick this off with photos from 4 days ago, shortly after they started pinning.
Here is my cab. Since so many of my cakes kicked the bucket I switched to a smaller cab, it appears to be serving the mushies well. Here are my 3 cakes that pinned prematurely and are kicking back up, as well as my 1 cake that didn't suffer any contam, still waiting to start pinning.

I'll run over my approach real quick. I fan and mist atleast 3 times everyday maybe, probably well over that. The lid of my cab is a floppy flat plastic thing that is perfect to fan the cab with.

Time for some close-ups!

Sexyshiny.

You can see the cakes are a bit mishapen, but they're fruiting well!

This cake didn't suffer any contam and the form is perfectly retained. As a result of this, it was put in the cab later and hasn't started pinning yet.

More coming, just a moment!

From 2 days ago, absolute astonishing vigor.

Same day, about 10 hours later.

Next up, where the mushrooms are at today!

You skipped on sterilization because it was a hassle It takes like five extra minutes to keep your area and needle clean. C'mon is 5 minutes worth the majority of your jars getting raped by bacteria?

Shots from today. These are looking absolutely amazing!

Do you guys think I should harvest the bigger ones? I read this on another website: "The mushrooms should be picked just as the cap is starting to tear away from the stalk."... what does that mean?
Thanks guys!

Also looks a little wet in there, but they seem to be growing ok. They look a little soggy tho. Potency is best right before the viel breaks. (or so I hear) The viel is stretched between the cap and the stem and will separate upon maturity.

First off congrats on the successful cakes, but yes harvest them asap. You should harvest right before or right after the veil breaks. The only reason you want them more mature and fully open is when you are trying to make a spore print.

That was from removing contaminated parts.
Here they are, 178 grams fresh!

They have been rinsed, and are now going to be placed in my dehydrator.

And here are the mostly cleaned up cakes, ready to shoot out more fruits!

Thank you!

I want to thank you guys again for your help!
And thank my dehydrator for doing an awesome, quick, effective drying job.
Here they are. About 9-10 grams dried.

I intend to ingest half of them in one go.
Peace, Love and Gratitude to all!
