Teacher steps down after citation
Assistant band director charged with possession of marijuana Staff report Published: Thursday, April 7, 2011 7:08 AM US/eastern A Shelbyville High School teacher has resigned three days after he was charged with drug possession.
Glen R. Allman, 26, was cited for possession of marijuana under 30 grams and possession of paraphernalia, both Class A misdemeanors, on Sunday in his home by Shelbyville Police Department officers. He was given a summons to appear in Shelby Superior Court II.
Wednesday, he resigned from his position teaching and working as assistant band director at SHS, said Kim Owens, administrative assistant for public relations for Shelbyville Central Schools.
“He met with school officials today and tendered his resignation immediately,” she said.
The resignation was effective immediately. The SCS board of trustees will discuss the personnel matter at next week’s regular board meeting, she said.

Man I was a band geek for 7 years, and we put our directors through hell. HS band teachers should definitely be allowed to smoke weed I mean, a lot of them have to cope with never having made it big in their instrument of choice, settling for directing school bands.

If the band teacher isnt smoking pot then they shouldnt be the band teacher.
Everyone knew our Music teacher was a burner. She wouldn't of been herself if she wasn't a burner. There was that one time she seduced a female student. But hey thats rock and roll. the school board even let her come back after that.
Awww the old days in a small town back when people had some common sense.

My band directors were all very successful musicians. Our main director received many rewards for the pieces of music he wrote.
However, this brings us to the "...go home tonight and get all your albums, tapes and cds and burn 'em. Because the musicians who made all that great music that's enhanced your life were reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeal high on drugs."
Its amazing that a plant can cause so much harm to people's lives. Well, its not really the plant, more of the ignorant fuckers who control the laws.
