My information might be a little outdated, but last time I checked it wasn't possible to run directx on a virtual machine, or something of a similar nature.

The simulated graphics card wasn't able to support some important function that newer games use. Older games still work, but anything newer than 2000 probably won't

That's why I have a dual boot.

By that I am assuming you mean a way to get onto a password protected wireless network?

If so, look into a program called Aircrack. You will probably also want WireShark. Other than that I can't offer much help, because I have no hands on experience.
