No one knows, you say?
Do you think that the life one leads on this planet has any impact on one's death or life after life? Is every soul treated equally at the time of death?
If no, what choices/impacts would be frowned upon?
We all recognize our conscience when it kicks in. Is there any relevance to this inner voice? Does it have anything at all to do with the afterlife like many religions teach, or is it simply a long outdated Darwinian type mechanism with the end goal of bettering life on the planet?
None of us know. But we're all coming from the same source, and that's what makes the difference in opinion so fun to listen to and consider.

Examined in another way, the United States has 100,000 more people incarcerated for nonviolent drug offenses than all the countries of the European Union combined, despite the fact that the European Union has 100 million more citizens.

I find it interesting a lot of cultures saw life as a preparation for death (see the Tibetan Book of the Dead), as opposed to the Western denial of it.

Oooooh OK! Now I get why you have a zero shroom rating. Thanks for clearing that up.

Death isn't something you really have to trust in. It simply is regardless.
Having personally coming close to death through OD's and renal failure, the relationship between those experiences and high-level hallucinogenic and other 'religious' experiences have been very close qualitatively.
It's not something to be worried about, there is not a 'you' stemming from the illusion of self created by continuing perspective to feel regretful after the fact, this I am highly confident in from personal experience with NDEs.
Belief in something certainly doesn't make it real, but just because you're paranoid doesn't mean someone's NOT out to get you. You will loose your continuous perspective. 'You' already have in your life at various points, but with the advantage of hindsight and connection of memory. The only difference with death is that this hindsight does not exist posthumously. And pain can certainly be very present, but It's quite likely that death is often less traumatic than being born.
