2nd TRY..TIPS-TRICKS-STEPS-HELP. ECT.
    #14292377 - 04/14/11 08:22 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

hey hey..i just inocculated for my second try.

i was thinking when it comes time to harvest , i would take out of the bag, and or break the block in half. n fruit side by side.
any tips or pointers on that note?

also..the reason i am thinking of this is because muh first try which was a bust well i had mushes growing on the bottom of the bag squished. and i was thinkin this would allow more room and ect to grow ....

any tips pointers for me on how and the process i should use to fruit. in the bag, out the bag, cut the bag dont cut the bag...fruiting is where im unsure which would be my best option.

i have a SG fruiting chamber......AND any tips to KEEP humidity.. i have perlite set up..but im worried i might not get enuff humidity..as that was one of the problems with my last grow...

HUMIDITY please. im using the perlite the drilled holes in the tub and all and ill spray frequently.. any tips tricks ideas ect on keeping humidity.?

thank you and happy harvesting..

<<<NEWB...second try...managed to get mushrooms first time but humidity wasnt right and actually i think that may have the only main issue.  thank you all for help.

I'd birth it as one big ass cake, maybe onto a rack for full surface exposure, or perhaps laid on a piece of foil on top of the perlite, cutting the bag off would probably be the easiest approach...breaking it in half though kinda bothers me, seems like you'd be more likely to just make a mess--and the myc. worked plenty hard to form that network, why undo whats been done. If you leave it in the bag you can just roll back the top but to keep it from fruiting on the sides you'll have to block light from all but the top in some manner(tape, bury it in the perlite maybe?). To add some extra humidity you can use styrofoam eggcrates and fill each of the little areas with perlite, adds alot of surface area and you can stagger-stack them.

A properly constructed SGFC will keep RH fine w/ the perlite. mushroomvideos.com

That'll show you how to make a SGFC perfectly.

Don't break the thing in half. You'll just be damaging the mycelium network.

Fruit it as one large cake in your SGFC. Mist as needed & fan as needed.

Also, quit buying pre-made stuff. You can easily do the PF tek w/ $40, especially if you've already got the perlite & FC. I bet you'll have better results by doing your own thing rather than trusting someone else to prepare it for you.:2cents:

velvet - you're thinking about this all wrong. It's MS. & even if it was an iso, you'd not get a straight answer. It's impossible to tell you how much exactly you can expect from a tek.
