Here's some photo's of what me and my girlfriend got yesterday on our first hunt... we is noobs

We were up in the hilly areas between Tumut and Canberra where there's lots of pine trees..

Was damp, found these in patch's.

There was lost of purple and orange mushies, we grab some of what looked the most like subs, had the lil peak thing in the middle of the cap and went like dark purple color after we brought them home..

I'm not 100% confident, but it was the closest i could see...

:nonono: not subs

I was looking around the Billapaloola State Forest (too specific?)
We didn’t look to far as we had to be back home by 3pm, and its roughly an hours drive... so we didn’t explore many different spots, just one..

I thought the weather conditions were pretty good, plus a mate had only recently found some in Canberra..

The tree’s were very tall with leafs and branches only up high..

Do they favour a specific kind of pine?

I noticed in the distance that the other tree’s looked slightly different.

Kind of disappointing first hunt but we still enjoyed the drive and bushwalking.. ( I however did not enjoy a log crumbling beneath me... which i then fell into le spikey berry bushes >< )

Next 7 days looks way to hot so im going to have to wait a couple of weeks i think!

Hopefully have better luck then!

Not to be discussing weather...... But I just need some quick help, thanks.
Would I have any chances finding sub's in these conditions?

not to be rent-a-modding, but if you know the rules why break them?

Quote:

5. Do not make threads or posts discussing or reporting the weather.
This includes complaining about the weather, asking if the current weather is "good for shrooms", or how long to wait after rain fall to go hunting.
As a general rule of thumb, if it has rained within the last 1-10 days, and the temperatures are correct for the type of mushroom you're looking for, and the time of year is correct then it is very likely that the mushroom you are looking for is growing.

your best chance is after rain, and low temps at night especially.
5-10 degree night temps and 15 and under in the day time will generally be when you should be looking.
check the temps you just posted and it should be obvious when you should be going hunting.
good luck :peace:

The nights are so cold here, not so much the day. There is dew all over in the mornings, which could help.
If it rains I will go hunting two days latter.

Also found heaps and I mean HEAPS! of pins... 1 example:

Some subs from my walk:

(Disappointed that last one came out a bit blurry :frown:)

Nice finds and photos.

Your unknowns are Leucoagaricus sp., Gymnopilus junonius and maybe Hypholoma sp.

They generally aren't active in Aus, from what I believe there other compounds with a relaxing effect in them similar to Kava.  This seemed to be definately present in the ones I found, post is here:

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/14106141/page/1

I've not seen these being reported as active in Aus, but the more information the better I suppose.

Honey preserves and absorbs the Psilocybin + Psilocin from the dried Subs, so I can just put a few spoonfuls in a cup of tea and drink  Great for long term storage
