Air conditioning concern?

Hey everyone! I'm glad to be a part of such an awesome community. I've been lurking in the background for some time now and am currently working on my second grow. I was a little noid to start posting on here but I've got a predicament! The house I recently rented has window unit AC. The unit in my "room" is either always on or always off. It hasn't been a concern until now but it's getting fairly warm in there now. I've been turning it off and on today but, I'm wondering if it would be OK to just leave it on? My FC is a small mono with filtered holes and a timed ultrasonic set to turn on for 5 minutes every 2 hours. Everything is going as it should just a little worried about the air movement. Better to let it get warm or to run that AC? Thanks!

Just don't place it near the AC. You can leave it in the same room just don't place it 8 inches away.
I run a portable AC during the summer in my grow room, its one of the AC's on wheels that vents out the window..

Edit: Air movement shouldn't be a concern.

Let me explain where my concern was risen. Yesterday I turned a desk fan on about 8' from my fc. This morning most of the condensation had dried up in the fc. It does seem healthier than it's been and has fresh myc growth today. I don't have a way to measure the humidity inside the fc so I'm just concerned about drying it out with the AC blowing. I'm thinking I'll let it run the rest of today and see what the effect is. Just kind of monitor it for a couple of days and see.

Condensation has nothing to do with the Rh of your fruiting chamber.. Condensation happens because of the temp difference between the inside and outside of the fruiting chamber.. Also you need to get a hygrometer, it is the only way to be sure the Rh is right..

Thanks for your response! I'll be getting a hygrometer tomorrow.
OK so I couldn't help myself, I'm slightly OCD so I went ahead and got the hygro.. Now I have 2 out in the house with one temp sensor in the "room" and one temp/humidity sensor in the fc. Seems my fc is 71-75 with a rh reading of 80% at the moment. I'm going to monitor with and without AC over the next couple of days and make adjustments as necessary. I never thought I'd enjoy this sooo much! Will update my findings.

OK so this may be my favorite new toy! I've been so worried about temps and RH inside the FC. Now I can monitor temps as well as humidity inside. She's now leveled out at 89% which I think it's safe to say between 84 and 94%. I will do a calibration test tomorrow. I don't want to disturb the babies anymore tonight!

I got the Acu-Rite from Lowes. I looked at several on the web and then at the store and it seemed to be the best bang for the buck.

Damion, your avatar is driving me nuts! I couldn't find much info on the humidor ones so I got what I could get my hands on. So far there's been slight fluctuation but it seems to be fairly close to accurate anyway. After I put it in the chamber, I turned on the Ultrasonic to restore humidity. It read 39% when it went in and slowly climbed to 93% which is where it's at right now(ultrasonic just cycled). I'm actually hoping to see it drop some before the ultrasonic cycles again. I believe everything is near optimal from what I've been reading?
Wouldn't you flipping know it, we got hit with a cold front so now the heat is coming back on! That's what it's been so far, a constant battle to regulate temps!

Alright, so the digital hygrometer was complete crap! I took it back and got 2 analogs. Adjusted them according to the RH outside. Testing them now. I do have another digital that's fairly accurate and I'm running the test with all 3. We'll see.

You're supposed to adjust analogs via the wet towel technique. Get a washcloth, towel or whatever soaking wet, wrap the hygrometer in it for an hour, and when you pull it out, immediately adjust the dial to 100%.
Some people do this every month or so to keep it adjusted.

I did end up doing the wet towel calibration. Search is awesome! I got the darn thing dialed in pretty good and found out that my fc was not quite optimal. Few little adjustments and now she's damn near wonderful.
