I believe your first batch of mushrooms are probably Pluteus sp., not Mycena sp.. And I am not quite sure what I am looking at in your "chaga" picture but I don't really think it's chaga. Nice Velvet Foot. Looks like it was a fun hunt!

I don't think it's Chaga either...not gnarly enough, for lack of a better mycological term

i was thinking it was a Pluteus sp. too, the spore print is starting to look white. the "chaga" its just a black polypore not sure what kind. chaga just rang a bell. i spotted the snake right by it.

Just a guess based on overall appearance, but #1 looks like a Gymnopus species to me. Spore print would be white. The stem looks off for a Gymnopus perhaps - but the cap surely reminds me of Gymnopus brassicolens.

I've tried them. The caps tasted like wet wood with a watery texture, the stems tasted somewhat better, but not really worth it in my opinion.

I tasted it for the first time about a month ago and thought it was actually alright. Very earthy/woody, but kinda refreshing. I dunno, I'm into earthy tastes..

1,2,3 Kuehneromyces mutabilis or something close ? = Callistosporium luteo-olivaceum 5 Xeromphalina species Could be Pluteus cervinus, Pluteus petasatus, or another Pluteus. Pluteus petasatus is known for having a central depression in the cap.
Look at the 10 day in your area
