Need a scale, but broke? No problem!

So I harvested and dried my first grow ever. And I wanted to try my shrooms before a gave them to any of my friends (first timer btw) but i wanted to do it properly weight wise. I don't have much money so I looked around on the forum for any helpful schematics but they were either way too complicated or just not dependable. As I am a total do it yourself-er. And i know some people are financially challenged i decided to make my own scale. So here is a picture tutorial with some household item 99% of you guys should have around the house.
ITEMS: 12in. Ruler Tape or Glue Penny = 2.5 grams Pencil 2 Cardboard Squares of the same size (I used the two sides of a maruchan instant lunch cover already the same size)
I used double sided tape to stick to the ruler 1/2 inch from the end of both sides. Place cardboard so that the edges of both ruler and cardboard are parallel.
Flip.
Get the pencil on a leveled surface and balance the ruler on it, by slightly moving the ruler with your finger on each side.
Place a penny on one side
And measure the mushies.
voilà! a poor mans Scale. I hope someone finds this as useful as I did.

I was thinking about something like this. It would have to be balanced pretty well in order to get accurate results, but nice work. All the plans I had became way too intricate in my head and I decided it wasn't worth the effort- just use a friend's electric scale haha.
