brf to grain! I have WBS colonizing, I just might wait and use that for G2G. I only have a glove box no flow hood

It'll work just fine, but grain is better because you can break it down to get more inoculation points.
A good glovebox is all you need for G2G.

Lol yes I understand BRF to Grain isn't GTG...WBS to WBS is grain to grain and a glove box will work perfectly fine

Thank you guys. I will attempt G2G as soon as my 10 quarts are done colonizing.

velvet - what Doc is saying here does have merit. Going from sterilized grain spawn to coir has a pretty good success rate, even if you're a little sloppy - but going from nonsterile spawn (coir) to more coir is going to be harder to keep contamination at bay. You're going to have to follow proper pasteurization techniques, and have a clean good environment, follow good sterile technique, etc. You might also want to use a 1:1 ratio of coir spawn to coir, if at least to start out with.
Really, I don't see a reason why you would want to do this, though. Learning and performing G2G transfers is a far better way of doing things. You can easily turn 1ml of spore solution into 20+ quart jars of spawn with one transfer. Why not go that route instead?
Is there a good tek for G2G that you recommend or follow?

super spawning does work, and as hippie has already said in a previous post..its not my method, nor am I recommending it, but I have seen it done, and have seen it work out just fine..
but also have seen it fail..
and for the purpose of proving doc wrong, i want you to post pics of a success not failure... just to shut him up

There is another somewhat-popular site on the interwebs that deals with mush cultivation, that shall remain nameless for the purposes of trying to follow the rules. If you search Google for "super spawning bulk" you can see that there are many mixed reviews on the subject.

i have had success crushing up an unopened WronguyBag and using it to spawn 10 more, with a 7 DAY COLONIZATION TIME! The myc doesnt have to adjust to the new nutrients in the hpoo, i think this helps with the speed factor.
HOWEVER, WronguyBags are PCed, not pastuerized. The substrate is sterile up until you open the bag to harvest the first flush.
You can PC/sterilize coir though, it will still work fine. get some spawn bags.
Hey HippieChick., Its good to see a few familiar face around here. Its mostly noobers and the same old questions.

the craziest thing that i have done to save my red boy pf jar that I had going from a spot of tritch that appeared at 75% colonization was I made up some agar and, under a flowhood mind you, cut sections of the colonized cake out and set it on the agar, 40 plates worth. Then waited for them to grow out. Found the best rhizo sections of them all...... made more agar and went to 50 plates of sectors that i really liked. once they grew out they were cold stored until needed.
