Well i went on my first hunt for the season today. And was treated with 10 lovely P.subs. i'll post some better shots when i find my camera battery that has all my photos of them close up.
But for now, here are some shots of the small pinners that i will be going back for in a few days. (how long should a wait?)
And also a shot of the ones i got in a small bag. Found about 10 all up.

Those pins don't look like subs. Make sure that all the others bruise blue.

Hm, you sure? I guess i can only really tell properly when they are a bit more matured. I'll be heading back to my spots in 2 days and check it out then. One of the spots i was at had hundreds of inactives and those look a likes that are weaker that subs.

Also the ones in the bag are from a completely different location than the picture of the pins that are 100% Subs for sure. blueing and all.

I wasn't doubting the last lot, they look good. I'm just promoting vigilance.

The pins on the other hand are almost certainly not P. subaeruginosa. They have the wrong shape and are striate (subs shouldn't be).

Those "sub's" are probably cyans. They where probably somebody's grow.
You plant a colonized cake and they ussaly fruit in a dense cluster.
But realy Idk it's a strange find.
Maybe, dig down on one side to see if the mycelium is shaped like a typical jar cake,
Although that might damage the habitat

I'm realy twitching to know what they are! :]

just went for a look around a bit further out, was seeing a few pins, but nothing major was on the way. There was a few i could have picked but i decided to let them grow as big as they can and drop as many spores as they can while the seasons in it's early stages.

No point taking a few tiny mushrooms and being greedy. i'll give them a bit more time and wait till the patch is in full swing.

That is rather worrying.

So is there different variations of the pholiota/inocybe/conocybe genus , some which are active and some which are toxic??

I shouldn't be saying this to a TI but, you 100% sure it's not a psilocybe?  It looks identical to the cyans me and my friend have found in America, last year. I'm confused :frown:
