No more Mr. Nice guy... (please read)

I've warned several of you for flaming in this forum, and I assume that you have all read the rules...but many of you continue to test me. So effective immediately, those that have been warned already, will not recieve any further warnings..only a temporary ban, if the flaming continues you will permanently banned. I hate having to do this shit, but the rules are there for a reason...if you can't respect them, then you are not welcome here.

Rono, I made this thread sticky, and added "please read" to the title, so that everyone will see it, and understand that you and the other Political Mods are serious about NO FLAMING in this forum...

OK then since I'm one of those to which you speak.... a serious question and one with no disrespect intended.
What happens to a mod, who for example calls someone a moron? Is that considered a flame?

That?s nitpicking. Mods and Admins are only human, and as such, are subject to emotional outbursts just like anyone else...
Let?s not lose sight of the overall principle and idea here, which is that the Political forum will operate better, and more will be accomplished, if the individual debates in these threads don?t descend into petty flame wars and personal attacks.
Politics, in general, and the invasion of Iraq, in specific, are subjects that are bound to get people upset, and result in heated words being exchanged. I think the idea is to try and keep it civil, so that we all benefit from these debates. There are many people who read this forum, but don?t post here, so try and think of them as well. They are interested in what people have to say on the issues, not whether Member A thinks Member B is a butthead...
Just play nice is all, be considerate of each other, and keep the debates on-topic!

Funny thing is, that's pretty much the response I expected.
Now I don't know you, but that comes across as "Do as I say, not as I do".
But hey, it's a private site.

It's about consideration of all involved, and striving to make this site better, not about specific incidents that have occurred in the past. Let's ALL move forward, and try to do better! I don't really know how I can phrase that any better then that, so I'll leave there..

I read the rest the first time and while I disagree, I found the first sentence (the one I quoted earlier) by far the most telling.

Here are my thoughts Luv: (To Rono, et al)
Yes, it is probably time to exercise a little more authority. I think you and the other mods have done a splendid job and the forum has improved quite a bit. I hope my presence there has been helpful. I haven't noticed very many flames though so I must be missing the threads they are in.
As far as Mods flaming is concerned this is why I like rules. I certainly do not believe that Mods OR Admins are above the rules. And this is why I like rules.
They establish fairness.
If anyone should be held to a higher standard it should be moderators and administrators should be held to an even higher standard. Favoritism should be avoided at all costs. That produces inbreeding and you end up with children that have crooked teeth.
"A Knight is sworn to valor. His heart knows only virtue. His blade defends the helpless. His might upholds the weak. His word speaks only Truth. His rod undoes the wicked."Remember the old code and the once ways. No one is above the Code, especially the King. I make exceptions for myself as to my behavior when the Shroomery or its staff are attacked. And I will not change that. Some idiot attacked 3D in that OTD thread about the worst Admin and I let him have it. This is because I have loyalities. And they are: 1. The Shroomery and its mushrooms mission. 2. Administrators and Moderators. 3. Shroomerites You have my fullest support in your moderating, as always. Cheers,

Could you clarify exactly what a flame is? There have been several posts recently consisting of nothing but miserable attempts at sarcasm and threats to get people banned containing nothing on-topic whatsoever. Are these allowed?

Read the rules Alex:
"if you can't state your case or refute someone elses case without calling them "stupid" or an "idiot"
Evidently name calling is a flame. Just like S&P. Why are you asking this question? Are you looking for subtle ways to break the rules?
Don't. You were already warned by the Administration for peeing in the S&P forum. Don't try it here or you will be without a home.
I'll see to it.

So cheap sarcasm and constant threats to get people banned is ok?
Perhaps the rules need looking at. The board would be a far better place without posts such as yours.
You were already warned by the Administration for peeing in the S&P forum
Thakfully your personal grudge against me does not constutute the views of the "administration".
I'll see to it.
Don't you ever get tired of your bitterness? As you yourself said, go outside and smell the flowers. There really is no need to be so angry.

Consider this thread locked.
