Ok so SWIM (someone who isnt me) started a jar. The jar she used was the 1/2 pint jars except it was one of the tall ones. Now everything went fine except she noticed a small patch on the bottem of the jar was not growing mycelium on it so she poked around on here and found a post that said to flip the jar over and that should fix it... she did so and now the small cluster of pins has become this and the patch has not fully colonized yet... so what should she do ?

She should meet for a cup-O-tea in the afternoon around eleven you say, oh no that would be nay, I would go for five or six I'd say. Maybe she should play with some poo in the hay...

Carefully bust the substrate out of the jar with a spoon and retrieve the already growing mushrooms. Pick off the uncolonized section. Use the remaining good substrate to either spawn to pasteurized coir, horse poo, or straw... or crumble it up into a tray and case it with pasteurized 50/50 mix (peatmoss/vermiculite) or pasteurized miracle grow moisture control soil.
-------------------- Evolution is Lamarckism in disguise. Adaptation never creates a new species or trait, but rather the new species/trait always existed within the parent DNA until circumstances allowed it to be activated. For instance, every wolf has the DNA for poodles, but that DNA would never be revealed without man selectively breeding for it.

why would you recommend crumbling and casing cakes?Quote:

Hold on I will get you my recipe for BRF bread loaves...
One cup of BRF cakes that have dried up because you crumbled them, 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup H2O, pack of yeast, cup of oil. pinch of gypsum...
Knead in dried out brf cakes into brf, water, oil, and sugar make into dough, sprinkle with gypsum to keep it from sticking to your oven when you land in OZ..
