Oyster Sawdust Block First Flush Harvested- Dunk?
    #14286083 - 04/13/11 07:32 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I just harvested my first oyster mushroom flush off a sawdust block (my first attempt).. The block feels pretty light to me.. Should I dunk it in water for a while to rehydrate to encourage more flushes? Should I always dunk after a first flush?

Yeah dunk if it feels light.  It should soak up enough to go the rest of its life without dunking again.

Evolution is Lamarckism in disguise.  Adaptation never creates a new species or trait, but rather the new species/trait always existed within the parent DNA until circumstances allowed it to be activated.  For instance, every wolf has the DNA for poodles, but that DNA would never be revealed without man selectively breeding for it.
