Getting bored of drugs

Is there ever a time you'll quit drugs all together because you've simply got bored of them all?
Years back, after only smoking weed and the occasional night on coke, I set out to try MDMA and LSD. After getting in contact with the right sources, it wasn't long before I tried them both. Before long, I began expanding to just about every thing else that was available which was just about any thing. There really aren't many drugs out there that I haven't already tried.
It went beyong experimenting with drugs... drugs soon became a hobby. But in recent months, I've been taking it reasonably easy and the only reason is that I've simply been getting bored of drugs. I never thought I'd say it but its true. I guess when you get older, you soon find yourself with more responsibilities to keep yourself occupied. Who knows? I sound like an old faggot but its seems to be the case. Drugs have always been a great way to kill boredom.
Do you think you'll ever quit drugs? I can't see myself quitting but I think my days of weekly abuse are well and truly over. The odd night on MDMA or shrooms will definitely be on the horizon but I can't see myself going any further than that.

No because I do drugs not just for the high but for the experiences and magic that come along with.

I predict there will be a few months/years of abstinence... But all drugs? Nah
I'm too much of a poly user anyway, too many combinations that never cease to be amazing .
Just know what you're doing and step over the line once in a while but if you really got bored with them then I guess it's just not your thing? I work and will combine it next year with a few educational courses along with another language despite that I still abuse and have sleepless nights . Responsibilities are what you make of them I never was a hero in that.
Drugs is what got me into interested in science... chemistry, pharmacology, ethnobotanicals. They definetly sparked an interest in life!

I don't buy ANYTHING but weed anymore. I'll buy acid if it comes around (and it doesn't) but I don't buy drugs anymore. I don't even spend as much on weed as I used to, I might buy a sack about once a month.
It's getting older, man. How old are you? Myself, I'm getting up towards 30. I'm looking at all these kids I used to hang around and what they turned into....methheads, crackheads, potheads who think they need to smoke 24/7. Most of them have shitty jobs, if jobs at all, and almost all of them are in shitty relationships, usually because they had kids with some random bitch. Hell, I moved out of state to get away from people like that.
That was 90% of it for me. Dealing with people who were always asking for money, or rides, or some god damn thing, and I just got tired of it. After I left, I thought about how I didn't wanna BE those people, and naturally, and without any concious thought on my part, I just stopped doing so many drugs. Because yes, they are boring.
There's only so many times you can get high. There's only so many ways. After a while, they just aren't interesting anymore. All we are is a different version of a Star Wars nerd who can't move past the same six movies (and handful of TV shows). When we finally move on and see there are other cinematic masterpieces, and indeed other FORMS of entertainment besides the movies, then we grow up a little.
It kinda sucks. But hey, I'd rather be me now than me then, if you know what I mean.

Unfortunately for me, the magic disappeared a long time ago.

Haha I love the comparison. I've got to agree with every thing you've said. After a while, drugs just aren't as fun as what they once were. There comes a point where you soon begin to realize that there is more to life than just getting wasted.
Yeah, I'll always remember the good times and I certainly have no regrets but getting fucked on stimulants for three days straight just isn't as appealing as it once was when I was younger.

That's a bit black/white, no?
Every healthy individual can have a great life and "get wasted" in the meantime aswell... I know what you mean though, those binges won't keep you alive for long. Junkies come , junkies go

Perhaps its time for you to quit OP.
I have to say, I'm getting tired too, but they still bring a little something to my life.
My guess is your getting bored with them cause you tried them all and you know you won't experience something new. Perhaps you are just craving that new experience.
Since you experienced them all already... you've got nothing new to explore.

I wouldn't resort to extremities. Perhaps I'll lower my intake but I see no reason to abstain from the medicinal and mind expanding properties of my favourite

I stick to smoking weed most of the time. Vicodin or poppy tea is nice a few times a year, but for the most part I don't do that. Once a year I will do molly or eat mushrooms.
I might take a smoke break every now and then, but I generally smoke a few times a day every day. I 'm a stoner. Always have been and always will be.

Yeah, sometimes you just get so used to being in the altered state that it's no longer exciting. So...why even bother? I've been there before, and I've quit, and come back, and quit...
I don't like to call it quitting, rather taking a break. I think once you've experienced the states of consciousness that most of us have, that sooner or later we will return
Idk, soon you will get bored of not doing drugs and you'll smoke a bowl, but that's when the drugs are the most satisfying imo

Don't think i'll ever quit - they are too useful...
Morphine when in pain Weed when in need of insight or sleep Alcohol when needing to lighten up and socialise DMT to expand my mind Mushrooms to remind me of wonders of the world
But bored yes - once you've tried them all they loose a novelty value and thus you become bored of them.
Thats if you use anyway - abusers are a different kettle of fish - they just do drugs to run away from their selves and you can do that till the day you die.

Well what I'm saying is the effects of the drug itself isn't the true magic, the true magic lies in the people places and experiences that manifest while on the drug and that will only go away if you allow it to.

I think that no matter how intently me or Gen try to explain to you guys what we're going through, you won't understand, because you aren't there yet. Or you won't get there. But I'm telling you, you'll be sitting around, getting high with friends and watching some shitty show like Family Guy and you'll think "This isn't funny, I don't like these people, and I don't want to be here anymore."
Or, you've got a hold on your shit, and it won't get to that point. For me, at least (I can't speak for Generix) the drug crowds are the same old shit. "Let's get high and watch TV." That's all it got to for me. Once I stopped smoking all the time, I realized I didn't quite like being stoned 24/7.

So for you, it sounds like the effect of the drug is negligible. It sounds like you're more about meeting people and going places. The drug didn't create ANY of that magic, man, it was only created by your perception of the people you were around in the place you were at.

well all you did was smoke weed & watch tv? I'll smoke a bowl and go for a walk, or ride my bike...it's nice to relax and I don't think I'll ever stop smoking.
maybe you were just using it wrong

Something I've learned after years of drug experimentation is that it takes all kinds... different drugs are REALLY different, and can be good in different ways.
Psychedelics are how you escape the mundane, and weed is kind of like a quieter, gentler version of psychedelics that can be used on weeknights.
Stimulants help you at school.
Benzos enable you to function and/or sleep when you are under catastrophic amounts of stress.
I love booze but it really has no place in the modern world.
