not mentioned in this thread, but I found this helpful in trying to determine my early LC success/failure.

One good gauge (necesary, but not sufficient proof) of cleanliness of an LC is how clear the liquid is away from the growing mycelium.
I just want to suggest that it should be clearing up as time goes along.

but like esquaredx mentioned, you really won't know for sure until you make a test jar.

So I got pins on the 15 day mark. About 6 that I can actualy see. 2 that are larger then the others which are very tiny.
How quickly do they grow at this point?

Here are some pics of the pins. Is it normal for them to be growing from the bottom of my cake so much?
I have cut down the misting, and now only mist extreamly lightly, above the FC
How do they look? http://

Looking good. And it is normal for them to grow on the bottom of the cake. Its normal for them to grow anywhere on the cake. They will grow where conditions are just right.

They look like there sitting on the perlite where it is most humid thats why they are pinning there you should put them on foil or on top of the jar lids

Thx for the feedback, the cake is sitting on top of a jar lid actually you just cant see it. It must have sank down a touch into the pearlite.
I have even more pins now, lookings promising, I have seen cakes that end up with only a few pins.
Fingers crossed :P
