So I have some beautiful Hpoo from last august. dried and filed aged, but I left it outside for the winter and its been raining non stop here in the PNW. so could I just put it in a casrole dish and oven dry it on a low temp for a short ammount of time as I have no fans?

yes, or you could just get it to field capacity as it is and pasteurize it. if you are going to use it all at once then don't worry about drying but if you're gonna store some of it it needs to be dry.

Any dry heat should work, but the odor of wet manure may stink up your house for a few. Nothing to cry home about though. And a fan can be had at any box store for $10, so you might want to consider investing in one.

ya this poo doesn't smell at all, and i think I need to dry it some cause as soon as I pick it up it falls apart, sooooo much straw in it. Wronguy, yes box fan $10, fucking sweet. I really want to start using poo, what would be a good ratio for a tub seing how one brick is about 3 gallons?

I don't understand why you need to dry it. Break it up, hydrate, and pasteurize.
I like 1 quart spawn to 3 quarts hpoo. You can add gypsum also.

a lot of folks use a 50/50 spawn ratio especially when your new, if your poo is nice and fine you can have tubs colonized in four or five days. they love poo. it will smell up the house but its not unpleasant, smells a lot like you are cooking dirt. like anonjon said you can just hydrate it and use it without drying it. the only reason to dry it would be to store it or for additives requiring a dry sub weight be used.

I don't see any reason to go that high even if you're new. More substrate is more mushrooms. There is a sweet spot somewhere around 1:3 or 1:4. No reason to get crazy with the spawn unless u just really like making spawn.

ok so I already have some coir sub made up. 1 brick of coir/2quarts of verm/1 quart of coffee and 4 quarts of water. this already fills my 66qt tub as I had to move my holes from 3.5 (prof.Pinheads version) to 4.5 inches and it's still alot. it already has the gypsum and verm and all that so what ratio should I do for my poo?
