I always find my A. Muscaria's with pine.
Ps. It's always nice to have a close-up picture of the volva when IDing Amanita's for future reference.

Tell you what, I'll ask her how the trip is and paraphrase it.
Seeing that she found these is getting me excited for my hunt on Friday afternoon - I reckon after this week, my usual patches will be going nuts!
Better wait for a trusted ID'er before giving her the green light to consume...

It's Amanita muscaria
Make sure she knows what to expect before consuming. Lots of people have bad experiences with Amanitas but others like them. They don't really appeal to me.

I will be sure to tell her. She has done acid before, and I'm fairly sure Psilocybe Subaeruginosa - I have informed her that it doesn't contain psilocybin, at any rate, but will tell her to read up on Amanita Muscaria experiences on erowid..
Thanks for the identification, fellas.

They are psychoactive when unprepared, and a kind of unremarkable edible when prepared.

Called her to tell her the good(ish) news; she had taken it upon herself to read up on the experience, and was excited for a mellow trip. She offered me to have some of them, so perhaps I will accept.
Maybe the appeal of the proposition will fade if I find some subs this Friday afternoon, though.

They're a deliriant (like being drunk), so they're nothing like a psilocybin trip. I think people prepare them by drying/cooking to convert the ibotenic acid to muscimol so to reduce the negative effects.

I told her to dry them, rather than trying to keep them fresh, so one is in her oven (at about 80 degrees c) and one on her heater, to see what works best. If I do end up taking them, I'll be sure to post a report.

The oven sounds great, as there active Chems don't break done much, if at all, to lowish temps
