depends what she thinks is scary. is it stuff that looks based on real or really fake but realistic horror. what i mean is, paranormal activity1/2 or nightmare on elm st.(of course the new one. maybe you should take her to see insidious. looks scary.

The Grudge wasn't scary, it was more like...LAME.
Try something like Hostel.

John Carpenter's The Thing is pretty tense. I personally find the classics (esp Friday the 13th) funny, rather than scary. Terrible acting and awful plots, makes me laugh. Alien is another good un - slow, suspense builds up and then slaps you in the face with it's dick. Jacob's Ladder is an interesting horror movie that isn't your usual horror. Story starts off in war zone, but it isn't a war movie at all. This movie influenced the Silent Hill games quite a bit. Event Horizon - sci-fi horror that gets pretty fucked up the deeper it gets.
Just have a look around and try different types. There's all sorts of different vibes in different styles that will either make you laugh, hate it, or terrify you. Experiment.

Hostel is nice, specially when they cut the Achilles tendon gory stuff is sweet.
Last movie I saw I actually jumped off the sofa was "[Rec]" but the Spanish (original version), I've seen the US version and it sucks , I'll grant you that will creep her out.

Yep. These two. The Thing and Event Horizon.
