I need 10 lbs dry substrate for this and can get 9 lbs of dry hpoo off ebay what would be good stuff to add in it to get it to 10 lbs? Could I just use hpoo and introduce my inoculated WBS to it? Also the hpoo says its been used maybe you could clarify this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160567157469&hlp=false&rvr_id=224380508729&crlp=1_263602_304652&UA=WXO%3F&GUID=34de7c6412d0a0aad522aba2ffac531b&itemid=160567157469&ff4=263602_304652

I'm assuming this is for mushrooms. You posted in the Enthobtanical forum, I'd move it to the mushie forum for faster responses.

you'll want more in the substrate than just IMO you'll also want to pasteurize your substrate prior to mixing in your WBS spawn.
I see a lot of success with hpoo/verm/gypsum and some people add coir, coffee, and/or hydrated lime on top of that. basically, a healthy and diverse diet =

I know of no one who uses hydrated lime mixed in with their bulk substrates. The only places for agricultural hydrated lime in Mycology is for pasteurizing straw and mixing into casing layers.

I wouldn't pay shipping for substrate. Go get local stuff, whether hpoo or coir/verm.
