This film was released a while ago but I was curious to see how many Shroomerites have seen it. For those who have, what were your opinions on it?

I saw part of it. It just talks about all the processing most of our food goes through to be preserved longer and how it negatively affects humans.

I know what its about. I have seen it and I am very familiar with what it discusses and am into advocacy for returns to traditional methods of local food production. I am asking what pubbers have thought of the movie.

We had to watch that vid as part of orientation for the hippie grocery store I used to work at. I was a bit ambivalent about the whole thing.... didn't really change my mind about what I consume.... But DID make me a bit more conscious about it all I suppose. At least I'm not ignorant about the whole MontSanto thing now....

I love that movie lol. It gets a little ridiculous though with how the announcer talks and the ten filters on each shot they use

Watch "Fat Head". The first 45 minutes are kind of... eh but all in all it is pretty good. The last half has some great info.
Food inc was disturbing.

Yes! I love documentaries and I'm not familiar with titles of these but I may have seen them during Slow Food film festivals, if they are of a related subject.
Did anyone feel impacted or see the gear they turn in the machine that is agribusiness? Do you care? Do you ultimately indulge your need to have money in the bank over morality in buying consciously produced meat and veggies?

Absolutely I think about my money's impact and where the food comes from. I really don't have that much of a problem with it to be honest, conditions for food animals are higher than they've ever been in industry

I got about half way through before I turned it off. I don't eat meat anyway, so it wasn't like it was going to convince me to change my eating habits. I stopped when the guy was raping the mexican immigrant. I just can't watch that kind of thing willingly.
Edit: Nevermind, that was Fast Food Nation. I don't believe I've seen Food Inc.

Hrm I think I should check it out, although I love meat and don't think I could ever go veg willingly.
I'm watching Food Inc now and so far it's pretty good. Not a shock video, it's trying to show you where the fuck your food comes from.

It's pretty good, nothing revolutionary, just the basics, only briefly covers the evilness that is Monsanto. I'd consider it a good supplement to like 50 other documentaries.
