Wanna Compare Snakes? ;]
    #14274932 - 04/11/11 09:15 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

This is Adaliah, she is a one and a half years old, and nearly 3 feet long. She is a Brazillian Rainbow Boa, a sacred snake in many Ayahuasca rituals in South America.

Shame on you for thinking I was talking about cock.
Who else on here has an awesome snake?

The thought has crossed my mind, but I do not think I could absorb their cuteness as efficiently as she could...It would just be damaging to my karma and soul if I tried to eat something that cute, but she is okay with it.

Thanks! The pictures don't do her too skin too much justice. After she sheds her whole entire body is covered in a rainbow sheen. It is unreal--under the right light it looks like she is superimposed on her surroundings =]

=[! That isn't good. How is the humidity and moisture content in her cage? They do not friu--er shed--too well if there isn't enough humidity or the bedding in her cage is too dry.  The last time my girl was not shedding, I changed out her cages bedding (I use Coco coir) and she dropped her skin with in 20 minutes. They are very sensitive to heat and humidity, and get temperamental with feeding and shedding if it isn't right?

How old is yours?

Humidity is 75+ for most of the day and slowly starts dropping(when shedding). When not shedding I keep it at around 60 or so.. she ALWAYS has trouble with the eyes..
I dont have a pic of her but here is her older brother Zeus.. a hogg island. Oh and Athena is 7 months old.. she grows FAST.

PS... I took this tonight

There is not a lot of maintenance at all really, just when you start off its a bit challenging(in a fun way!!) My biggest obstacle was picking them up.(i have multiple snakes)
After you get comfortable picking them up it will be a breeze man.. You may have trouble maitaining humidity up for the first few weeks but you'll learn. I put their water bowl on top of one side of the heating pad and his hide on the other side of the heating pad.. that way water evaporates  and creates humidity. I also dont use lights.. I use the natural day-light.. heating pad is more than enough heat

Zues fits him well, he is a beauty. I think it is funny that you named your snakes after Greek Gods... Adaliah roughly translates into Fire-God in Persian.

As for the cages humidity, try to raise it a little bit and keep it about 80+ and see if she starts shedding better. It could be the culprit.
What sort of bedding do you have in her cage? The bedding I use is always a little bit moist in some areas, and Adaliah is always burrowed under it. She sheds like a champ usually.

If you raise her humidity levels and use a moister bedding for her cage, and don't see results, there are always a few products out there to help her out.

I wish you the best of luck with your snakes!

I will keep it at 80+, thanks! She just has bark bedding and she always burries herself too.. I'm glad its normal because from what I hear they like to be up in vines and branches all the time(got her a branch in there) but she has only used it like twice.
I'll get some pics of her when she stops shedding
