My friend is currently in his first grow and though he made some mistakes.. he thinks that he has learned from them.  One thing that he would have done differently... is some how seperate the dry verm later from the cake.. he was gonna use alumminium foil but it was a bitch to do with ripping.. the reason he wanted to do this.. is because.. the jars seem to shrink kinda when they are growing.. not to mention when you flip the jars upsidedown to speed up the colinization.. the cake shifts down and compacts to the dry layer.. anyway.. my friend waited FOREVER for the top part of his jars to colonize... he decided to say screw it and birth the cakes.. he saw mycelium growing up through the dry layer! Maybe because putting it upside made it wet.. anyway.. this little bit at the top that he was waiting on to colonize was actually the dry layer.. be careful for this... my friend thinks his jars inncubated way too long because he was waiting on that part to colonize.. just thought i'd add that.. have fun :smile:
