SE Louisiana Cubes! YEAHHHHH! - plus ID request.

It's a new season and a new field. I was hesitant to go today, but SO glad I did. Found some of the best cubes I ever found today.
They were a bit dry from sitting in the sun, but do not look rotten at all. It's about to rain tonight, can't wait to go back for a more extensive hunt! We found these with only a quick 45 minute hunt.
Nice one:

Perfect!

Today's haul (210 grams, semi-dry):

QUESTION, a few of the cubes have odd colored gills, as seen in the following picture. Everything else screams cube, except the gills. What do you think? This is the same mushroom as in the first picture of this post

I'd say it already dropped all of it's spores, making the gills seem lighter, so long as they bruised blue Nice finds!

Nice! Thanks for the report.
Sometimes the gills are light colored, as long as it bruises like the others...

Nice Finds, man I just moved to Louisiana from Washington, so i'm used to picking Ps. Cyans and Azures. I'm excited to get started down here, but i'm used to exploring parks and forest, not trespassing onto people's land; any advice on how to scope a good field and get started?

Use it to find a field. Look for one away from the road, prefereably 2 or 3 "sub fields" in.

Are psilocybe cubensis the largest psilocybe mushrooms? Probably the wrong place to post this but I was just wondering. They are so unlike the other "LBM" mushrooms that I look for, it surprises me that they are in the same genus.

Gyms are Huge, but they're not in the psilocybe genus. the Largest Psilocybe mushroom is probably Ps. Azurescens.
