Hericium corolloides slowly moving forward?
    #14272350 - 04/11/11 01:18 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Its been maybe a month or two since my last post on this topic. Obviously I'm still doing my best at growing molds (I'm not showing the worst plates) and clearly have a long way still to go but I think I am finally starting to make some progress towards my hopes of getting local corolloides isolated and going.
Bits from the clean and recognizable sections from these were yet again transferred to new plates and slants.

Congrats... it looks like you finally got it isolated.  I like to put petris in a ziplock bag just to give a little more protection from contams (I know your contams were from your outdoor sample... but still a good idea for indoor contams).  My problem is that I can't get hericium to grow out well on a petri... it just grows a bit and stops... can't figure that one out.  Good growing!

Thanks, I'm not sure I've really figured out what they want for agar either as I did those plates two months ago.  I've been trying different media. PDA and ODA have been the best for me so far but I think I've got a heck of a lot to sort out still.
I'll keep posting whatever happens.
