Ring around jars.

So I checked my jars after about 4 days and I saw wierd rings around the bottoms of all the jars. Could it be because it's cold and they are in the basement? Or do contaminations start from the bottom up after 4 days? Sorry for the noob question.

well, im not entirely sure what that is, but usually if you had a contam at the top then the contam came through the top. and that goes the other way around too . what color are the rings? couuld just be the way the mycellium is growing

The rings are whitish and they look like they might be on the outside of the jar but don't wipe off. I've never seen mycelium grow like that before either.

Then again I haven't seen mycelium grow before.. I see a couple tiny white dots when I look close, there is also some on the bottom. Can anyone tell me what this is?

You said it may be on the outside of the jar...can it be wiped off at all? Was day 4 the first you checked on them after inoculating?
Reason I ask is because it could be staining from the water in your pressure cooker or sterilizer. I've noticed similar stains if I neglect to wipe off the jars really well after PCing and the water just evaporates naturally.
If not that, I don't really have any other ideas. Maybe try to get clearer pics up in the meantime.

No I can't wipe it off and yes day 4 was the first day I checked on them.. No I didn't wipe them after sterilizing, and yes I'll update this in a couple more days assuming it isn't a contamination. ALSO that was the best picture I could get, my camera has flash and everything.
