All I have to say about the WS is that the Cardinals won because Ron Washington out-stupided LaRussa.

all i have to say is i'm glad texas lost
seeing a mid-west team take it is nice
and that was a great come-back, the kind that makes baseball exciting.

I defended him for a while but when you do the same stupid shit over and over in the world series. texas should have pulled game 6, but they didn't.

While loosing game 6 is more to blame alltogether. Last night was all the wrong calls at exactly the wrong time. Allen craig and molina walked both on bad calls bringing wilson vs. furcal up. And it was really game over from there.

La Russa's Retiring.

God bless that man.

I wonder how many people he's watched fight to the death in private gladiator battles...:strokebeard:

one more season and he'll be the 2nd all time winningest manager. why would you retire right now?

*only 35 games or so actually.

maybe for him, having his team go all the way is the best time to step out, so he goes out in the 'blaze of glory' if you will.
he's locked his place in baseball history, no matter what the numbers are.

There are a couple good articles on the St Louis Post Dispatches' website that address some of his thoughts on coming back just to get the additional wins. I don't wanna link out and figured if your interested you will find it

Why the hell did washington keep lewis in game 6
Man,I'm depressed. My dad and I have been watching the rangers loose for as long as I can remember.I was hoping we would get to see them win just once,he's old and sick now and this was that one chance...Washington I HATE YOU !!!
Hopefully nolan cleans house and brings in some damn pitching.
JESUS,They had it in the bag not once but twice

We should be seeing some of Tanner Sheppers this next season and we've still got Neil Ramirez and Martin Perez coming up, great pitchers, also Leonis Martin is on his way up hopefully another allstar batter. Don't worry the rangers are set to make another 2 runs at it.

Profar is going to be a beast, too. A few years off though. God damn do I wish the Braves never traded for Mark Teixeria.

One of the most lopsided trades ever.

It was a pretty bad trade. There have been much worse trades, however. The Braves could have been a 100 win team last season if it had never been made, IMO.

que? prado hasn't gone anywhere...

If the rangers could get in some talks w some free agent pitchers it'd be great. shields, gonzalez, cahill, oswalt or jurrjens (i hear the braves are looking to lump him w/ prado) anything would be good.

Darvish would rule though.

I been hearing about a Marlins/Reyes romance.  If they had the money it would be awesome but I'm just not seeing the revenue.  Marlins should leverage Hanley for a shitload of top pitching prospects.  Reyes will be overpriced no matter where he goes.  So will CJ Wilson.
