Burnett was instrumental in helping them win the Series the last time.

So 1 mediocre season where they won the world series erases the 2 bad seasons immediately afterwards and the next 2 seasons which will probably be even worse? There's just no way.

Of course it doesn't erase them, any more than they erase what he did that year. We'll see about the future. What was Colon doing last year?

Eating. Eating ALL DAY LONG. Colon's resurgence is practically unprecedented when you consider his weight, age, and injury history. I have to say I'm impressed at the Yankees for recognizing how much he had left in the tank. He hasn't thrown this many innings in a piece of time though.

Same for Garcia. Pretty good reclamation projects. Maybe they know what they're doing.

It is amazing what Colon is doing this year, have watched him pitch and it's like going back a looong ways ago and what I was expecting him to do much earlier bu I just wish it wasn't for the Yankees.
It was funny how Jeff Weaver piched so well to help the Cards win a world series then gets a huge contract from Seattle and plays at a triple A level. But at least with A.J. he did help them to one championship instead of leaving and sucking another teams payroll.

Fuck yes he is. I drafted him in the shroomery fantasy baseball league with pick 47. It's paying off huge. I'd make out with him.

I love how Leyland still let Scherzer's pitch count get really high. God damn he's such a fucking joke.

The playoffs are pretty much set already. The only real race, barring an epic collapse or charge, is the AL East and they're both going to the playoffs. The only other race even remotely interesting is NL West and I don't think SF has the horses to catch Arizona.

I don't get why people keep on talking about the Giants making a comeback. They're just not that good of a baseball team.

I didn't think they were last year, either, but they weren't the worst team in history to win a WS.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; the play offs are a crap-shoot. If you get in you have a reasonable chance of winning. The Giants were quite a bit better last year, I think.

You and I have always agreed about the crapshoot nature. They were better last year. They aren't even getting in from a shit division this year.

Dude...what about the AL West. As of today that Angels are only 2 games behind Texas in the L column.
