Wait a minute, maybe not. MLB Network reporting that Colorado wanted either Scherzer or Porcello, ALONG with their top pitching prospect. Report is now Detroit bows out of the sweepstakes.

I think Boston/ New York is going to land Ubaldo...Kuroda goes to the loser.
I'm saying Upton lands with the Braves, who know that since the Phils just got better, they will need to upgrade to stay in the race for the division (yeah right) and contend in the playoffs (no one is catching them in the wildcard).
As for Bell, he goes to the Rangers, and Carlos Quentin maybe to the Pirates?

Fuuuuuuuuuck the tigers then. I will pray every night that detroit continues its irreversible slide into an uninhabitable shithole. I hope every man, woman, and child in that pestilent city dies a horrible death.

Anyhow, why are the White Sox dealing away contributors? Like Edwin Jackson, and now maybe Quentin? They are only 3 games out of first. Don't get it.

I think the Braves ought to be going after Michael Bourn. BJ Upton seems kind of like a lazy shithead. Bourn is as good as Hunter Pence and they need a CF more than a RF.

The Phillies now and the talking heads on ESPN. Never brought up that Cliff Lee would ever go to Phillie, then he signs. Then they say no one will give up enough for the astros best player Pence, especially since he's signed till 2013 I believe, and the Phills were never part of the conversation, then....he's on the Phills.
And B.J. Upton is hitting in the .220's, he's not going to make a huge difference most likely. Just curious where Heath Bell is going to end up, the guy is amazing and a joy to watch pitch and close out games.

BJ Upton is still a pretty good player when he's hitting .230. Good walk rate, power, speed, and average defense at a premium position. I expect his average to rebound to around .250, especially if he switches leagues. I would be happy if the Braves got him.

Nothing personal, but I'm rather attached to the Rockies keeping their ace. But honestly, if we could get good people for him I'll be happy. If we wind up with some nobody prospects I'll be furious.

Upton plays HORRIBLY in Tropicana..he has WAY better road stats, so a change of scenery may be what he needs. Plus, hes been playing the the AL East his entire career so hes been playing pretty good teams and pitching, plus a lot of players flurish when the switch from AL to NL... i wouldn't have been upset if the Phils got him instead of Pence, because he is still young, and put on a playiff team without having to know the chances of beating the yanks and sox are slim and actually having a chance can help. Plus playing in front of a crowd of more then 200 people cheering for you can boost your play significantly

Fuck yes. The Braves got Michael Bourn. A perfect fit. Just as good as Pence and they gave up a lot less than the Phillies gave for Pence. Now all we need is for fucking Roy Halladay to get hurt and we're golden.

And Vance Worley and Hamels and to make sure you don;t face Lee in the postseason...then maybe your bronze at best
Anyway I like Michael Bourn, the Phils gave him to the Astros, wish they hadn't. And Ubaldo to the tribe, they are looking to make more moves.
Anyway, the Braves won;t be getting past the Giants in the playoffs, because obviously both the Phils and Braves are going to make it, one being the wildcard (Braves), thus meaning they will face the Gaints, unless the Central heats up and has a better record than the Giants, which I doubt. The Phils-Gaints rematch is pretty inevitable, with whoever wins that winning the World Series.

The Braves are better than the Giants. You're high. Acting like the Giants are a baseball juggernaut= LOL!.
Braves Pythagorean Record: 61 wins 47 loses Giants Pythagorean Record 55 wins 52 loses (expected record based off of runs scored and runs allowed).
The Braves aren't just a little bit better, they are a LOT better. The Giants have only barely scored more runs than they have allowed.

Anybody catch the highlights of Tigers/Angels? Fucking Verlander is so disgusting. Dude was dropping 101 in the 8th. Had a no-hitter through 8th.
Mad fireworks, too. Guillen posed on him and then stared him down on the way to first after he went yard. Seems bush league but Guillen did it because Weaver was talking shit to Ordonez earlier in the game. Fuck Weaver. Fucking douche bag. After that Weaver tried to take Avila's head off and then got tossed and was challenging the entire Tigers dugout to a fight (while walking quickly to the exit).

All that shit is stupid..baseball isn't about those kind of stats. It's about how you come to the game and how you play it and what happens in that 5/7 game series. Look at the Giants and the Rangers. You know who had better Pythagorean Records? THE TEAMS THEY BEAT.
Quote:

All they need is to barely score more runs then they allow. It's called winning close games.
And it's not that the team as a whole are juggernauts, but they have an outstanding pitching staff. When it comes down to it, those players have proven affective. As for the Braves rotation and half of their players, not so much. Lowe was outstanding, but the rest of the staff didn't show up. Jurggins never pitched in the playoffs, who knows how the pressure will get to him. Then again, the Braves won't have Conrad getting 7 errors a game too. Honestly, I hope the Braves do win, because if the Phillies can pass whoever they end up playing, we won't have to deal with the Giants pitching because they have had our number this season and last (although, maybe Pence will spark a better offense).

I agree, the Giants are in trouble if/when they get to the playoffs. Not enough offense by far, and if they run up against a hard-hitting team they're in serious trouble. I say if because I think the D-backs are winning the NL west this year.

Mighty bold statement of the d'backs winning the division. Though I'm a bit intoxicated I'd say, with all due respect, there is no fucking way.

Baseball is entirely about scoring more runs than you allow. Basically that is how you win any sport.
